River Eves Health and Wellness Programs, Events, and Activities
Year Round Initiatives:
- Brain Breaks – Implemented every day throughout the day in the individual classrooms. Teachers utilize various programs to provide several brain breaks throughout the day for all students. - Farm to School – Implemented through our Food and Nutrition Services http://www.farmtoschool.org/
- Georgia Shape Governor's Honor Roll- Platinum Award Winner. The Governor's Shape Honor Roll Award recognizes elementary, middle and high schools for their dedication to creating a healthy school environment and a culture of wellness for staff, students and community. Georgia's K-12 public schools were invited to submit an application to be recognized by the Governor's Office, the Georgia Department of Education and the Georgia Department of Public Health for their exceptional participation in the annual fitness assessment data collection process as well as their commitment to efforts that improve student wellness. http://www.georgiashape.org/story/governors-shape-honor-roll
- Indoor Recess Program – Each grade level is provided with indoor recess carts, which are full of games and activities to keep students engaged on days where they are unable to go outside. This is a helpful resource to support students and teachers during cold and rainy months.
- Outdoor Learning Environments – Reading Garden, Outdoor Classroom, and a Nature Trail.

- PBIS – Positive Behaviors and Interventions Support
