Principal's Message
Dear River Eves Parents,
I am honored to serve as the principal of River Eves Elementary School. Although I am relatively new to the principal role, I have been serving students in this community since 2011.
For those who may not know me well yet, here's a bit about my background: I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Notre Dame College in Manchester, New Hampshire. Following that, I completed my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Georgia Southern University, and obtained a leadership certificate from Georgia State University. Over the past thirteen years, I have had the privilege of working closely with our staff, students, and parents in various capacities, including as a teacher and more recently as assistant principal. Before joining River Eves, I taught across various grades in elementary school and also served as a middle school special education teacher.
While I am not originally from Georgia, I have proudly called Fulton County home for the past 16 years. I am married to Chris, a Milton High School graduate who owns a classic car restoration business in Cherokee County. Our three wonderful children include Lena, a rising senior at Georgia Southern University; Olivia, who completed her freshman year at Ole Miss and hopes to transfer to UGA soon; and Bryan, a rising senior at Milton High School.
I am deeply passionate about public education because I believe every child deserves a meaningful and high-quality education in a supportive environment. To me, an optimal learning environment is one where students feel safe, included, understood, and empowered to succeed. When students know they are supported, respected, and valued, they are more likely to take academic risks and thrive. I strongly believe that all students have the potential and desire to learn, albeit in different ways. It is our responsibility as educators and parents to help students discover their unique learning styles, nurture their strengths, and guide them in continual growth across all areas. Building positive relationships among students, staff, and parents is crucial to fostering student success.
Upon entering River Eves, you will immediately sense the positive and collaborative spirit that defines our school community. I am dedicated to building upon the outstanding work already in place at River Eves Elementary and feel fortunate to work alongside such a committed community. I look forward to collaborating with each of you to ensure that your child(ren) have a rewarding and enriching learning experience here.
