About Our School
Established in August 1996, River Eves Elementary is a cornerstone of the Roswell community, where family, community, and commitment are more than just words—they are a way of life. Nestled in a supportive residential neighborhood, River Eves exemplifies the spirit of a true neighborhood school. We are exceptionally proud of our diverse student body, representing a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. This diversity enriches our learning environment and fosters a culture of inclusion, respect, and global awareness.
Academic Excellence & Innovation
River Eves offers a rigorous and engaging curriculum that includes a strong emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Through our Project-Based Learning (PBL) model, students tackle real-world challenges aligned with the Georgia Standards of Excellence. Each year, students participate in three school-wide STEM Days, showcasing their creativity and problem-solving skills.
Our Aquaponics Lab is a living ecosystem where students explore sustainable food production by studying the interaction between fish, plants, and bacteria. This hands-on experience deepens their understanding of life sciences, environmental systems, and sustainability.
Career & College Readiness
River Eves is one of the few elementary schools offering CTAE (Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education). Students explore high-demand careers through engaging units in:
- STEM/Engineering: Design thinking, bridge building, and rocket development.
- Computer Science: Coding, robotics, and AI basics.
- Entrepreneurship: Real-world projects like toy store creation and “Shark Tank” simulations.
- Agricultural Education: Gardening, sustainability, and food systems.
Our AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program fosters a college-going culture by teaching students essential academic and life skills. Through WICOR strategies—Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading—students develop critical thinking, goal-setting, and self-advocacy skills that prepare them for lifelong success.
Positive School Culture
We implement PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) to promote a safe, respectful, and responsible learning environment. Students follow the SOAR expectations—Safe, On Task, Always Respectful, and Responsible—and are recognized with Eagle Points and quarterly PBIS Celebrations.
Our House System builds community and character by grouping students into four houses—Curiosity, Positivity, Integrity, and Tenacity—each representing a core value we strive to instill in every child.
A Connected Community
River Eves thrives on strong partnerships between families, staff, and the community. Teachers work collaboratively with parents to nurture self-worth and respect for all learners. The school community comes together regularly for family events, book fairs, talent shows, student concerts, field day activities, and many other celebrations that make River Eves a warm and welcoming place for all.
