Building Character Acting Classes for Kids.  An exciting and fun acting class that not only helps develop and improve self-esteem and confidence but also gives our students a creative outlet.  We also work on important life skills taught through theatre and play! "It's the Most Creative Way to Spend Time After School!"

Alchemy Kids

Alchemy Kids Learning believes education goes beyond academic achievement—it's about nurturing confident, creative, and globally aware individuals. Our after-school enrichment program provides a holistic educational experience, blending traditional subjects with real-world applications to inspire genius and creativity in every child.  Alchemy Kids Learning is suitable for children on every level. We help tutor and support those who may need extra assistance with their studies.  We sharpen and enhance the skills of students whose parents are looking to give their child an extra edge in the classroom.  Alchemy Kids Learning also assists with homework, study guides and test preparation.

Chess

Chess Championship is offering chess classes again this year at River Eves Elementary taught by Chess Master Jeff Kidd! Our classes will teach your children to play in a systematic, fun way to build their chess skills during chess instruction and supervised play. Studies show that chess improves math, reading and critical thinking in young learners while they have a great time playing the classic game. The chess club will be held on Tuesdays after school from 2:20-3:20 pm. A spring session will be offered starting February 25 and ending on May 13. We also have a complete online curriculum so the players can practice when not in class. If you have any questions, please email Coach Dennis at jones4chess@gmail.com.

Kidz Keys

KidzKeys use color and tons of FUN to introduce students in K-3rd grade to the joy of playing the piano. Using the colorful Chroma-Notes™ system and Kodaly rhythm syllables, students quickly learn to read musical notation while they play familiar songs they will love to practice in class and at home. Our experienced teachers do a great job with both beginners and little Mozart’s, so no experience is needed to have fun in our class! This class is designed to foster a dynamic learning environment where students develop essential skills in mathematics, teamwork, and the use of hand tools, while cultivating a strong sense of commitment and respect. Through hands-on projects and collaborative activities, students will apply mathematical concepts to real-world scenarios, enhancing their problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. Teamwork is at the heart of every task, with students working together to complete assignments, share knowledge, and support one another’s growth. The club offers a variety of fun STEM challenges, providing hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and creativity. Members also learn about diverse STEM careers, inspiring them to envision their future in these fields. Additionally, the club fosters a supportive environment where girls can build lasting friendships with peers who share their interest in STEM.

Student Council

Our student council is a dynamic leadership group made up of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade representatives who are committed to making a positive impact on our school and community. While class representatives are selected by teachers, 5th grade students have the unique opportunity to serve as officers, elected by their peers through a voting process.

The council meets monthly to plan and lead various school-wide initiatives that foster school spirit, community engagement and student leadership. From organizing special events like the annual Talent Show to welcoming visitors as student greeters, our Student Council members work together to promote a positive environment for all. Through these experiences, students develop essential skills in communication, teamwork, and civic responsibility.

NEHS

The National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) provides students in grades 4 and 5 a place to develop and apply their passion for service while obtaining the skills to be confident young leaders for years to come. NEHS membership is centered on recognizing students for their accomplishments while challenging and equipping them to develop further as leaders through service to their school and community. Students are considered for NEHS by the responsibility they have shown at home, at school, and in the community, as well as having maintained all As for the past two semesters.

Membership responsibilities include attending monthly after-school meetings, as well as involvement in school service projects. The River Eves chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society has committed themselves to many programs: they currently run the recycling program at River Eves, they have organized toy drives during the holiday season, they have raised money for childhood cancers, they have implemented pet supply drives, and each year, NEHS leads the Summer Reading Program so each River Eves student can take home a variety of books to read over the summer.
